First, "Welcome to the Eight Forums." . . .
Second: Forget the Modern UI music app (I sent it packing). You can use WMP, or download something different like iTunes, Winamp, etc..
You will have fewer headaches. . . Good luck.

Use Music Info app from the Windows Store, Zune Software, Windows Media Player, or VLC player.

Xbox Music isn't good enough other than streaming.

Sorry there Mr. Robot, but I tested just about all the Media /Music players from the Windows Store, and have to say there isn't one good one amongst those offered. I will stay with iTunes and Winamp. . .that just me though. . .

Windows media player is my default player plus I also use iTunes, never even tried the music app so I have no opinion of it.

in order to download music to your computer, you have to pay for an Xbox Music subscription. that will let you download the streaming library to your computer. then you can copy it to your portable MP3 players.

the free Xbox Music subscription lets you add the music to your library but only for streaming. all the streaming music in your library can only play when you're connected.

I personally really enjoy the Xbox Music app because it feels like you own thousands of songs. I don't download music illegally and as a result, I only own a few hundred songs. but with the music app, it's like any music you want to listen to, you have. you can add them to your library and make playlists with songs that you didn't have to buy. really great. and the music discovery is the best feature. I heard groups that I would've never heard of normally.

Are you talking about your own music, the stuff you own, or music you're trying to stream?

Oh, and what did you use in the past, on what platform.

he must be talking about the streaming music. because his own previously obtained music is already on his PC. in order to physically have the streaming music on his PC, he would have to have a paid subscription which allows him to download an unlimited purchase of songs.
