Thanks, Tony! Unfortunately, that Coolermaster craptastic case doesn't have much room or cable management capabilities, so I did the best with what I had on hand. The USB3 header connected to the blue cable is as easy to route as frozen garden hose... It's nice and cool in the case and air flows easily, which is the goal. I think Dan will really like the PC and did you see all of the ports on the rear? He has 1394 (Firewire) USB2 and USB3, eSATA, SPDIF, serial and everything else I could think of. He uses ProTools for audio processing and music production on this PC, and he's studying that at college and mastering his band's music. You have to know what the PC will be used for to really build the system to do what the user wants it to do...

Thanks! Dan is very happy with the PC and he can't wait to hook it up and see how it run. A friend just dropped by and saw Dan's PC and asked me if I could build him one, too. As soon as he gives me the $, I'll build him a rockin' PC!

    Great work Art!
Especially because you mentioned a tight budget.

Not everyone would manage this kind of thing.

    Cheers

Hopachi, Thanks! If I wasn't always working with a tight budget, there wouldn't be much of a challenge and I wouldn't enjoy this as much as I do. Building a great PC and spending lots of $ is easy, it's much harder to get the right hardware and software for a budget build and over-deliver for the person receiving it!

    Nice build man

I'm also building a new rig, but it'll take about 4 months to be finished considering the monthly budget that I can disponibilize.

i7 3770K @5.67 GHz. Daily. in Drivers & Hardware
Firstly, I'm sorry for the title sounding like a hot shot scam. So I overclocked my system to 4.5 GHz, disabling only Turbo Boost. I also changed a couple of voltages. Before, I disabled not only Turbo Boost but also power saving features like C3/C6, EIST. At that time, Task manager always...
