After going through the advanced boot options and restarting in safe mode, my PC always boots in normal mode, safe mode no longer works from the advanced boot options.
I have to use msconfig to boot in safe mode.
Any ideas ??

Do you have an Easeus product installed? Todo backup home/server 5.0 prevents safe mode from working. Uninstalling or updating Easeus software is the fix in this case.

Do you get a quick glimpse of a blue screen with an unhappy face when you try to get into safe mode before it reboots again?

Just making sure; you are doing this aren't you?... see image below...

Hello Xaudiox, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Double check the tutorial below to see if it may help.
You might see if this may work better for you to add Safe Mode to your boot manager.

Hope this helps, :)
Shawn

Thanks but i already know exactly how to boot in safe mode and how to add it to the boot manager.
What I want to do is fix what's broken, which is entering safe mode from the startup settings.
When I use the advanced options to boot a command prompt (for example) it works fine.

In that case, you might try doing a system restore using a restore point (if available) dated before you believed this started to hopefully fix it.

Problem Solved !

Had to think about anything that i may have done to change the way windows boots in the past and remembered this,
I used a program called Boot UI Tuner from winaero.com to remove the Windows 8 logo during boot a while ago (because i dont like it).
I have just re-enabled the boot logo using Boot UI Tuner and now Safe Mode works from the Advanced Startup Options.

Regards, xaudiox.
