Just curious, how many of you have used Windows 8, have tried the various free preview options and have decided to simply NOT purchase the product by the end of the day tomorrow when the $40 upgrade price offer goes away.

I will be the first one to say, I haven't purchased a copy and am not planning to.

Fortunately I got it for $14.99 since I bought this machine back in June. Glad I didn't spend more than that because I'm not staying with it.

At 14.99 a pop for the Pro version, I just couldn't resist. So I purchased three. Installed one on my older HP Pavilion laptop in dual boot mode alongside Win 7 Pro. I have to admit Win 8 Pro is working flawlessly. I admit that the whole metro feel does take some getting used to though.

I bought two licences while they were cheap, but I'm not going full Windows 8 until things change somewhat. I think they will change, for no matter how adamant Microsoft is at the moment that what you see is what you will get forevermore, the pushback is growing and they will have to respond. This is despite the forum's Three Microsoft Amigos touting Windows 8 is perfect.

That is precisely why I refuse to buy it. I want them to get the message that we don't all just accept that we have to take what we are given.

I love technology and I have to understand and support it...but that doesn't mean I have to love it myself. So, that is why I am here. Still a Microsoft user and supporter, just don't care for this particular release yet.

It's worth it for the boot times.

The start menu is a non-issue if you take a few minutes and learn how to use it.

It's quite easy, and fast. I'm not sure why people are so scared of it.

I think a few people have not been reading the news. . ."Lenovo" just put out there last monthly and quarterly reports and it looks really good for those who are buying stock in the company.

As a 80% of the time Mac user (going on 26 years) I really do not care if win 8 makes it or not, albeit I have to say it just does not seem as bad has a great deal of people on this site make it out to be.

I am quite familiar with upgrading from Windows 8 to 8.1 but strangely this time, even though everything has been deleted, I still get "windows upgrade log files" showing in Disk cleanup occasionally after rebooting.
