    Windows 8 Search in Metro

    Hello,

i have a problem when i search for app on start screen, there is no results unless i write the full word.
for example, when i search"pain"= "no apps match your search", but when i search "paint" ifound paint app.
so what is the problem here?

another question, how can i search for files for all computer not user files only?

    thanks,
    Ahmad

that's strange behavior. it should start showing up with "p".

    more narrowing with "pa".

    and really narrow with "pai".

I'm not sure, but I don't think the Metro search allows you to search system files and folders. Everything else but those.

I notice what looks like an extra space at the end of your search. It looks like "Pain<space>". Perhaps that's the problem?

if it only happened the past 2 days, can you think of what changes you made to the system? drivers you installed? programs you installed? etc. etc.

do you have a system restore checkpoint that you can go back to that's not too long ago?
