Windows 8 Pro 8GB Ram but only 2.16 usuable

Anyone have a clue why? I am using a MacBook Pro i7 processor with 8GB of ram. The 8GB is all useable using OSX Mountain Lion. However using Bootcamp and booting to Windows 8 It's only using 2.16GB. It says 8 is available but only using 2.16 (See attached photo). How can I fix this? I am using Windows 8 Pro 32 bit btw.

The reason being us you are running a 32 bit system vice a 64 bit. Thirty-two bit system only us a max of 3.2 gigs of ram. If your system is 64 bit then replace the 32 bit with a copy of the 64 bit OS.

Then why is only 2.16GB available instead of 3.2? I have a Radeon HD 6770M video adapter with 1GB of dedicated ram.

I see that you are using a MacBook Pro which probably means that some of the ram is being used for the on board GPU; this is common in almost all laptops whether it is a Mac or Win PC. If would seem that you are using it in Boot Camp.

Post a picture of Resource Monitor > Memory tab. Then we'll see more.

There you have it. The hardware eats up all your RAM. But for your hybrid configuration I would not know why.

There should be no reason for hardware to he using that much ram. Anyone know if upgrading to 64 bit would even fix this?

I would install a 64bit Linux distro on an external drive (preferably USB3 or eSata) and boot from that. Then you will see whether that is a real RAM problem or an address space problem.
