    Running Windows 8 to go

I had my windows 8 Enterprise open. I made my 2TB Hard drive Windows to go.
Then, still running enterprise, split the 2TB HDD into 2 partitions, the main "C" Partition with Windows to go on
And a "W" Partition with space to use as a normal external harddrive.
When i plug my 2tb hdd into any computer running original OS on i can see the 'W' Partition

But when i run Windows to go i cannot see it :/ why is this, is there anyway to fix it?

You cannot see it anywhere - not even in Disk Management ??

Plug it into a computer where you can see the partition and check the security permissions on the partition.

What kind of volume is the partition?

Screenshot of disk manager when it's working on another computer would be helpful too.

This is how Windows 8 To Go is designed to work. Ideally, it would be on a small USB flash drive versus a hard drive. What happens is that when you make the To Go drive, Windows will hide other hard drives or partitions. The reason being is so that some random user in the enterprise space doesn't go and screw things up on a local hard drive, which is a plus for the IT administrator than anyone.

Here is an TechNet article that goes over how to deploy Windows 8 To Go. To fix your situation, you will need to use PowerShell and redo your image manually with the commands, without setting the image to hide any hard drives.

If that fails, you will probably might need to consider a bootable virtual hard drive running Windows 8 on the external drive.

In a WTG USB flash stick prepared with Windows 8 RP, it was simply a case of using Disk Management to unhide the main hard drive partition(s) by assigning a drive letter (or letters). I don't imagine that has changed with Enterprise spawned WTG systems. After all, WTG may be used by an IT engineer in an enterprise to recover PCs that are not behaving properly, and access to the hard drives may be required.

This isn't a technical thread as such. Just wondering if any of you are still running Windows 8.0 instead of 8.1? Don't get me wrong, I do realise that Windows 8.0 will be going out of support in January 2016, chances are Windows 9 should be out by then so that should be a suitable upgrade....
