I like the Metro tile , but in 20 years of using computers, and many programs and upgrades I have never had so many problems. I am not a negative person, so I am being realistic and asking if other have had some of the problems listed below: 1/ Task bar icon for gmail displays IE, and IE icon displays gmail; 2/ INTERNET EXPLOYER stops working everytime I change sites; 3/ Programs on Desktop completely removed, other problems, not mentioned. Please respond if you have had problems, I am ready to go back to Windows 7. My apologizes to Win 8, but these are serious problems.

Can you elaborate a bit more about specific problems?
I got 4 machines of various makes running 8 and I have little trouble except for one major issue I won't get into here.

Your issues sound unusual.
Can you give me a screenshot of your gmail icon? If it an app or link to email in IE?

Be as detailed as possible and we can work through this with you.

Try setting up a new user of the same level you are using. See if things are working properly. If yes, copy everything needed (files, shortcuts, etc.) to the new user account. Then delete the old user account. If you want to use the old user name, then repeat the process. After deleting a user, look in C: Users, and make sure that the old user folder is deleted; it may have no contents, but still be present (which will mess you up without serious effect if you want to go back to the original user name). If still there, then delete it. You may need to take ownership to do so. Another link on take ownership here.

I have not been back to the Form, but I realized that my initial problems have all been solved. I am Very Happy with Windows 8 it makes search easy, but do have some conflict with Google. Just installed Windows 8.1 and have a minor problem. I have no Audio on you Tube. High 5's to windows 8. Geney
