So, i have installed classic shell, newest version, to add start menu, disable charm bar. But, this program doesnt actualy disable them, it just visually removes things, i still can open charm bar with shortcuts, like with touchpad - i have to cross though touchpad a little bit from the very right to left, and charm bar opens ... So, how to disable these shortcuts ?

Classic Shell is designed primarily to give you a start menu with most other features being more incidental. It sounds to me like you want something more drastic. So, you might consider: Windows 7 explorer for Windows 8 if that's the direction you want to go in.

Yeah, Classic Shell only disables the hot corners. It doesn't disable the keyboard shortcuts like Win+C or swipe gestures.

What do you mean by 'hot corners' ?

When you move the mouse to the corner of the monitor, some UI pops up - like the app list in the top/left, charms bar in the top/right, start screen in the bottom/right, etc.

Well in that case Classic Shell doesn't disable them at least not on my PC, Charm bar pops up on the right and if I have any apps open or the Start screen they show up on the left, likewise if I right click on the bottom left I get another menu with programs and features,Power options, Event viewer etc
So don't know whats going on there !

Kindest regards

On laptop touchpads, edgeUI gestures like Charms are enabled by the touchpad drivers. Go to Mouse Control Panel and depending on your touchpad (Alps or Synaptics or Elan), you will see settings to disable the touchpad swipes:

The advantage of disabling them via hot corners is that they remain enabled in Metro. If you want to disable them via registry everywhere, see this blog post: How to disable the edge panels (Charms Bar and Switcher) in Windows 8 | Winaero

Well, you can disable those things via classics shell settings - windows 8 settings - disable active corners => all. If this is already selected, then it must be bug.

Anyway, my touchpad is elan touchpad, my laptops vendor - lenovo - doesnt have any win8 drivers for my model - b560, and the ones from elan site installs, but it doesnt work - settings window is empty...

Oh, just checked elans site, and there is new drivers released few days ago, and it works !!! If someone needs it, ELANTECH Drivers
