    "Bright Young Lad" Award

Today's Bright Young Lad Award goes to me. I had to set up my beloved Windows 8 so that I could turn it off. After months of use, I noticed today that the top right corner of my keyboard has three buttons: "Power," "Sleep," and "Wake."

Most keyboards do not have these three buttons.

You made me take a look at my keyboard and I have the same 3 buttons, but have never used them. Will have to see if they actually work.

Lol, Vince! Laughing with you! I can relate. It's like the absent minded professor -> "Oh! I never noticed that that function before!!"

They don't always work the first time so you'll need to set them up if that's the case (system power management power plans...) searching for the right options.

Ah now mine doesn't have this feature. I do find closing the lid works pretty well mind you.

Normally it is preceded by "Isn't it time for you to go to sleep" in my case. A different button as it were.

My laptop doesn't have discrete function buttons for those features, but has some Fn+ buttons that are assigned.
