    Refreshing

When I installed Windows 8 on the day it was released, I had to do a refresh because the apps in Store were not working right. As I remember there were others having the same problem. Today I ordered a laptop for our granddaughter which will, of course, have Windows 8 on it. Does anyone know if there is still an issue where a refresh is needed?

I have been here for awhile, and I have not heard of anyone having to do an out-of-the box refresh because the apps were not working.

My question is how you installed windows 8? Was it as the upgrade over windows 7 or did you make and ISO and do a clean instal?

Now that I'm thinking about it, it was the evaluation version.

When it is working as you like then make a refresh point. It really is worth it and it works.

I once or twice had apps crash on me. Usually, it took a restart or two; or even an app update.

After extended use of Win8, all my metro app tiles quit working. I had to create a new user-eventually returning to my original user name. Glad that worked for me.
