hi guys
i have win8 but also want win7
which one is better?install win 7 in virtual machine like VmWare or create dual boot using win 7(2 Os)
i have edius 6.07 and it does not work in win 8 and i think if i install win7 in vmware it does not work correctly because this edius needs good ram , geraphic and cpu

I had Win7 and Win8 in a dual-boot config and I experienced nothing but trouble. I now have Win8 installed and use Win7 in a VM and have no issues. I strongly recommend avoiding the dual-boot setup.

Start your VM with 2GB and go up from there. It's easy to make these changes with VMWare.

I have a dual boot setup and have experienced no issues whatsoever. I've found that VM can cause slowdowns and issues with some software.

I'd say it's a setup/installation issue, as I also had a dual boot setup on my tablet and that is just a 1.66 GHz Atom processor, 2 GB RAM, with built-in graphics and I had no issues running Windows 8 on that.

What I did was create a complete disk image of Windows 7 on a new partition on the hard drive and then upgraded. I know that most people suggest a clean install, but I didn't want to go through the pain of loading all of my software and then the updates, so I did an upgrade. Everything worked 100%.

My intention was to delete Windows 7 once I was satisfied that all was well and I was happy with Windows 8 on the tablet, but I instead deleted Windows 8, as it just didn't work for me. I'm still holding out on my desktop, learning all of Windows 8's idiosyncrasies and waiting to see where Windows 8 is heading before making a final decision.
