Hi,

i have a brand new store bought hp g6 laptop running windows 8, it has been running quite well for the last few days. However, today I have come to boot up the comp and it has shown a 'setting up your comp/downloading tiles' screen, basically looking like i was turning it on for the first time.

Now, when i log in to my profile it is completely empty, there is nothing there, when i click on 'all apps' it shows a blank screen also.

my guest account still logs in, and the computer memory suggests all my files are still there, but when i tried to access them through the guest account it lagged and never completed opening the window to show my files.

Any ideas, or should i just throw the whole thing against the wall like ive been dreaming of doing for a while now?

Do you need to get your files back? If not, perhaps your computer came with a system recovery partition or other recovery medium that you could use in returning to factory fresh? See my sig for related thoughts.
