What about those people who write?
i assume they would use the onscreen touch keyboard
Ever tried to write more than a sentence or two on a touch screen?

A whole page's worth on a Lenovo Yoga, in tablet mode. Surprisingly accurate and pretty decent to use.

As long as it has cable, I'll take it!
I don't like Wireless keyboards... as if I choke or trip on that particular cable...

I don't like the feel of mechanical keyboards, it's just too archaic for me. I prefer chiclet style keyboards.

Archaic or not, please provide me one with cable. Wireless is too "dumb" because keyboard is not 2miles away form pc.

You would be a rare case indeed. But why do that when it comes with a keyboard? I think I now understand why you like the Windows 8 user interface, you just like doing things the difficult way.

no i never ,and im not going to buy one to find out .lol
i guess the writers will just have to get a wireless/blue tooth keyboard,it that even an option .

i don't think we'll ever see the demise of the full keyboard and mouse anytime soon

That's a bit of wasted time... for most of us.

Pretty decent but not perfect. But as long as we got text correctors and dictionaries all is well.

To fix my negative entry above, I'll say that I have hope that they will make the touch devices better with time as long as testers and user feedback is provided. But I'm not tester or user of such device.

Complete agree caperjack. Can't imagine doing extensive word smithing without a full keyboard. Onscreen keyboards are good when your primary task is consuming information, reading or casual text entry. In a business environment, I'd think the keyboard will be around for awhile.

Microsoft Windows 9 will support only this type keyboard (to be connected with USB wire). Qwerty and Azerty keyboards won't be supported anymore.

Note: I never expected the suggestion of dropping support for physical keyboards to be taken that seriousely! That speaks volumes on how far the degeneration of the OS has gone in so little time
