Can I still get the $14.99 upgrade to Pro option?

I'm looking into buying a new laptop with Windows 8 tomorrow.

Thing is the laptop comes with Windows 8 non Pro version.

Can I still get the $14.99 upgrade to Pro option or is this only for Windows 7 computers?

Would be sorta retarded if Microsoft is only offering this to Windows 7 computers purchased after June 2012 and not to newer Windows 8 machines that come with the non Pro version of Windows 8...

Yes, the $14.99 special is only for newly purchased Windows 7 computers.

It may be cheaper to find one with Windows 8 Pro already included.

Otherwise, you could use Add Features in the tutorial below in your new laptop to upgrade it to Windows 8 Pro Pack (with Media Center) for $69.99.

Back to the point, the laptop I currently want is on sale with Windows 8 included and there's no other laptop in the price range that I want for the performance per dollar ratio.

I would have been batter if the laptop let's you choose between Windows 7 Premium and Windows 8 that way I would get 7 Premium and have the option to upgrade to 8 Pro with porom but that's not the case for the laptop I want since I'm getting it at retail BestBuy.

Luckily, I still have a free copy Windows 7 Professional laying around that I got last year from a close relative just in the case I do not like Windows 8 (currently Avira does not work with Windows 8).

PS. What's this talk about Windows Blue?

Is is going to be a like a SP for Windows 8 or all new operating system all together?

I can still upgrade a NORMAL Windows 7, Vista of XP computer to Windows 8 Pro for €29,99.

This offer stands untill 31 january this year. Perhaps a similar offer is valid in your country? Then you can upgrade this way if you have a Windows 7, Vista or XP licence.
