Here is the problem :

I don't know how to fix this and I can't find anything on the web about it. Seems like i'm the only one to have this problem. It's only with the homepage with all the apps and the sidebar when I put my cursor on the top right. It's a real mess.

Ive been having problems with w8 in the last couple of weeks, I believe its driver problems, I uninstalled and put w7, w8 is not ready right now, still needs a good six months to be as solid as w7 so I will wait until then.

I was going to suggest video driver problem. That's what the symptoms look like to me. Did you install Windows 8 yourself, or did your computer ship with Windows 8 (certified by the supplier)?

Yes, it looks like a video driver issue. I haven't had this happen with Win8, but I've seen similar things with other operating systems...

I provide this to see if those weird transparent situations disappear.

Basic rule of survival:
Update graphics drivers to latest version and install Windows Updates...

Hope you can get that fixed with one of the tips.
