The trouble with most forum answers is that they are too clever to be understood by the average person stuck in the mire of computing . Conflicting answers and fragmented instructions are everywhere. If I read every post,no doubt I would find every answer to every question eventually. Anyway if anyone has simple answers to the following questions Iwould be grateful. A. I have ordered a backup disk from Microsoft after having downloaded win 8 pro, what will I receive,32 bit,64 bit or both? B . Can I use the store bought win 8 pro disks with the COA of the downloaded win 8 pro?

    Hello tinmar,

I have ordered a backup disk from Microsoft after having downloaded win 8 pro, what will I receive,32 bit,64 bit or both?

If you ordered the DVD from the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant or separately from here from the link in your order confirmation email, then you will get the same 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 8 installation DVD as the Windows installed on the computer you ordered the DVD on. If you ordered a DVD in say 64-bit Windows 7, then you will get a 64-bit DVD. If you ordered a DVD in say 32-bit Windows 7, then you will get a 32-bit DVD.

Can I use the store bought win 8 pro disks with the COA of the downloaded win 8 pro?

If the store bought version is not an OEM or System Builder copy, then yes.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Thanks ,I ordered the disk via win7 64 bit so I should get a 64 bit win 8 pro disk. I hope to use it to do a clean install to change my win 8 pro 32 bit to 64 bit to take advantage of the extra ram I have. I have a copy of Win 8 setup (5315KB) saved to use on my win 8 pc.
