So why you talk about it if you know nothing about it ? I can't believe it, It's a server OS not a Desktop OS, stop to compare it to Windows 8. First of all it's not free it's a 180 day evaluation, No Defender, and get ready to pull a lot of cash from your pocket for a server anti-virus, Windows 8 anti-virus will simple refuse to install. Aside you gone need a lot of tweak to make it operate like a Desktop.

Metro Store , Starduck, Wallpaper.... Regular or Data Center ? , lol this tread make my day.

Just few think you will have to deal with
    1- Enable Desktop experience
    2- Enable Windows audio service
3- disable Advance IE security, you don't want a warning popup at each page you open a new page or if you want download something
    4- Disable advance password security
5- Disable server management on start
6- Add copy/move ( very annoying warning all the time if not )

this is just few thing. again, it's not free and it as no free anti-virus solution. Running Server 2012 as a desktop is for an advance Servers 2012 user who know what is doing. If you don't know what Server 2012 is, you not qualify as advance user.
I'm not too sure about the whole feature set as I have used it to test it out and see what it's all about, as I'm able to tell someone who is saying that they can get Server 2012 and is wondering if they can use it. Of course it's not a desktop OS, but as some people have shown, it's not overly difficult to get it to skew that way some. And yes, you need to know things about it, I know enough to say I know about it but don't know all of it, as I don't use it and won't even though technically I could possibly use it later next year for a home server.

You can download Windows Server 2012, then mod it to act like and look like Windows 8.

This is probably illegal but i shall ask anyway.
Is the product key that you get for Windows Server, will that work on a normal install, because i was thinking i could download an untoch iso and use the product key if they work... But i high doubt it

Again, the Server 2012 you are talking about is a 180 days demo. MS is not dump enough to give you a Server OS for free, especially Data Center, Windows 8 will cost only $ 39.
