    Yeah, my listed i5 pc (has jus one OS on it) is not the ony pc I work on.

    So if you like, you can fill 10pc specs in the spec lists, but it will look bad.
    Because the forum doesn't support it. Ideally it would allow you to just list all of the computers (with a note such as if it's active or not), then people can just click on each computer to pull up the details for that computer.

    I pay for 30 from Comcast. I usually hit 32 to 33.

    Is it the same and also legal in your countries to pay for, let's say, 20MB but receive much less?
    Your "pipe" can handle 20MB/s (or whatever the rating is) but there's a whole lot more than just the speed of your local connection that figures into it. On my Road Runner connection I sometimes even see it turn in a higher-than-rated reading (although not very often). It varies at different times of the day. There's just no way to guarantee a particular speed, the server you're talking to at the moment may not be able to deliver that. Your contract speed is stating the maximum throughput you will get if everything works.

    In my case, the reason is simple; they only send 6MB instead of 20MB. It is limited by them and it is constant through the years. A Vodafone guy told me once in all sincerity, when I called for this reason. I accept it because I pay a very low price after negotiating with them. I live well with 6MB, it's fast enough and I prefer this speed to paying more. But it's funny that they sell 20MB and give 6MB and it's still legal.

    i guess it's because some of those seeking help just don't know what's in their computer, nothing wrong with that.

    i get 37mb down and 10 up, on fibre to cabinet, it's nice but i'm waiting for BT to role out the fibre to home as I had the line fitted a while back in anticipation of this upgrade

    I have 25Mbs on my contract but I only get 8Mbs. It has to do with proximity to the centre and the condition of the wires. Go to your building's junction box and straighten the wires that go to your flat or house. This helps reduce the noise and you may get a slight increase.

    Make that 30x slower and you get mine. Seriously.
    You're still better than mine,
    You = 4Mbps
    Me = 1Mbps (occasionally) 512Kbps (Frequently)

    i do believe if you look at the fine print on broadband packages not on fibre/cable it will say somewhere ''up to'' and some other fun lines like ''depending on service'' and stuff like that.

    they would get screwed badly if those little tod bits weren't there.

    Exactly. Only the neighbourhoods served by fibre optic cables actually attain maximum speed. Now they are offering VDSL which promises speeds up to 50 Mbps but at a price. Copper wire is not good enough as it suffers from noise. But hey! Battlefield works just fine with the 8Mbps I get so no complaints!

    ευχαριστώ πολύ but as I said before in another post, in my case the speed is limited by Vodafone to 6MB. I live in the centre of Madrid and very near the station. It's just them ginving only 6MB instead of 20MB. No matters what I do I always get 6MB and no more and no less.

    I have a HP desktop and know a few of the spec like the CPU, name of integrated graphics, amt of RAM. Don't know or care about the rest as it all works with the latest drivers.
