Is Windows 8: A ‘Christmas gift for someone you hate’...??

People are saying that upgrading to Windows 8 might not be that good. What do you say?

I say: Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.

I love Windows 8. But some others don't.

So, I am of the opinion that - you should make sure that the person you intend to gift Windows 8 isn't one like me. If somebody who hates me would gift me with a Windows 8, well .... do I need to say anything more?

hi there, I've been using win 8 for the last two weeks, I brought a licence from m/soft uk, at first I thought I'd done a bad move but after using it for a while and getting used to how it works I think its one of the best O/S around, well done microsoft

It is a good OS, but some of the crap going on behind the scenes definitely isn't.

I think it would be great, if someone "hated me" enough to give me Windows 8 for Christmas.

It's fine - but you need Classic Shell.

I have WindowManager also. I'm thinking about getting WindowBlinds.

Actually, I think android would be a worse Christmas gift...

I got you an ASUS tablet for Christmas!! (gets hopes up that it's an ASUS Vivo or Vivo RT tablet, then realizes it's just an android 4 ASUS Transformer tablet)

I love Windows 8, and right now I'm appreciating the performance and security of it over 7. I'm right now dealing with a PC running 7 that just decided to puke on itself, the freeware anti-virus blocked some malware, but it seems something has gone wrong but nothing is showing anything. With Windows 8, this most likely wouldn't happen, and would be a little more easier to deal with if it did.

A better Christmas gift for someone you hate would be a free lifetime subscription to Norton Anti-virus.

They held a raffle once, where the 2nd prize was a one year subscription to Norton AV. The 1st prize was a program for safely removing Norton from your PC.

I bought an Asus transformer last year for Christmas and i enjoy it as much as I have any other tablet device. And I've used just about all of the with the exception of the Surface.
