On my HP Envy h8-1414, would there be any advantage to switching from the factory insatalled Win 8 rt to Pro?

Thank you.

I regret to inform you, this upgrade cannot be possible. RT runs on ARM chipsets and not x86 and x64 chips. Same backwards too.
The main difference between the two is the ability to use win32 applications, which RT cannot.

You don't have Windows RT. You either have Windows 8 Core or Windows 8 Professional.

I've not idea where I got the idea mine was rt. A quick look at Bel Arc Advisor shows the Operating System as Windows 8 Home Premium x64 build 9300. With that in mind would a switch to Pro be of any advantage?

Thanks again.

Unless you want or need Hyper-V or some other feature that is only available in the Professional edition, you don't need to upgrade.

That is kinda what I thought. I will stay with the home premium.
