Windows 8 Stores Error

Hello,
I have upgraded Windows 7 ultimate to Windows 8 Pro. I am getting the following error when Opening the windows store . I have logged in into the system with windows live ID

Try performing System File Checker (SFC) scan, to repair the missing/corrupted system files. A new feature in 8.

a) Press ‘Windows + X’ Keys.
b) Click on ‘Command Prompt (Admin)’ to bring up an elevated command prompt.
c) Note: Click ‘Yes’ if it prompts for permission.
d) In the command prompt type in the following command and then press Enter.

sfc /scannow

It is completed with the following message

"Windows Resources Protection did not find any integrity violations"

It's strange that a lot of people are having problems with the Store app. Have you gone online to make sure things are ok in your MS account? Registered/safe PC/devices, links, etc?

where do I access Registered/safe PC/devices, links, etc? Please elaborate. I have already given access to my PC with my Windows Live account

When signed into your MS account page -> select Security info. You should have devices/PCs listed that are safe. One should list "You're currently using this PC". I dual boot, so I have two listed there, but it will always list which one I'm on/using.

My PC is already listed in my MS Account

Ok then we can assume all's correct there. I'm on my phone so I'm limited at the moment. Try searching the error code in the MS site or internet to see what you can find. I'm trying to avoid an OS refresh, for you'll lose programs installed but not store apps. Refresh is in the tutorial section of the forum.

We had the 5973 error on multiple computers, and after days of searching and wanting to kill myself, I finally fixed it. It is related to permissions set on registry keys for a special local user called "ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES". See this article from Microsoft--this finally fixed it for me: Win8: App: Modern: Apps fail to start if default registry or file permissions modified.
