    Language & Microsoft

Just install windows 8 today to my laptop
    1. Cannot find how can I start Microsoft words or excel.
    2. Cannot open words or excel from my drive
    3. Don't know what's wrong, cannot key English. It's Thai font. There is no language switch botton at the bottom. Already removed Thai from control panel but it's doesn't help.

I'm not an IT person, sorry if my questions r stupid to u. Now I'm using iPad to write this note & seek for help.

Hello Arika, and welcome to Eight Forums.

    - Do you have Office installed? Word and Excel is part of Office, and is not included in Windows 8. If you do have it installed, then their should be shortcuts to open them from the "Start" screen.

Q3 - If you only wanted English for the keyboard, then double check to make sure that you added the English language, and have set English to be your keyboard input method.

If you wanted English for everything, then double check to make sure that you have English set as a display language to select from.

    Hope this helps,

    Hi there
Even if you installed W8 with Base language THAI you should be able to add other language packs (PRO version / Enterprise version) for Windows display and Office display

Language - Add or Remove in Windows 8

    Go into control panel

choose add a language (or whatever it is in THAI)

Windows will grab the language pack and install.

Language Pack - Install or Uninstall in Windows 8
