How to Enable GodMode in Windows 8

Here’s a neat Windows 7 trick that’s been around for a while that also works on Windows 8. It enables “GodMode,” a single place to access all Windows settings without needing to browse options and folders in the Control Panel.

    To use it:

    1. Create a new folder anywhere (I create mine on the desktop)
    2. Rename the folder to GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} (Be precise! one wrong character and it wont work!)
    3. That's it!

You will then see 251 configuration settings in just one Window!! Yes, everything you see is visible elsewhere in Windows 8 but having everything in one place is so much easier

I could not see how to create a thread in the tutorial section - can an admin move this post for me?

Hello Barcora, and welcome to Eight Forums.

The method below for Windows 7 is the same in Windows 8. Plus, it lets you "Pin to Start" or "Pin to Taskbar" as well.

I had this on Win 7 and happy to have it back on Win 8. It's working well, I have just used to change some of my file extensions.
    Many thanks!
