We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Media Creator app the first day you had your new PC.
& made the Startup Repair CD.
Recovery Drive - Create with USB Flash Drive in Windows 8
System Repair Disc - Create in Windows 8

Did you make the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disks?

HP Recovery Manager is a software program that offers a way to create recovery media after you
successfully set up the computer. HP Recovery media can be used to perform system recovery if the

software programs installed at the factory, and then configures the settings for the programs. HP
Recovery media can also be used to customize the system or aid in the replacement of a hard drive.

Hello. I'm currently experiencing the same problem and nothing here or anywhere else online is helping. Its probably because I'm not very computer smart and don't know what most of it means, but it also might be because there's other problems with my HP Envy m6.

I tried disabling SecureBoot and enabling LegacyBoot, but now when I try going into Windows 8 it says my PC needs to be repaired and the digital signature could not be verified. I also tried holding down F11 when booting it up and that didn't help much either. It still won't let me access my account.

Also, I've only had this laptop for a week, and it might be important to note this started happening today after it was finished downloading a new Windows update. I'm currently waiting for it to finish with a system restore, but I don't know if that will help at all or even make the problem worse. Its taking a fairly long amount of time.

Please someone help and give me instructions that are decently easy to follow. As I mentioned before I'm not very computer smart and I would rather not have to order system restore disks.

After you enable secureBoot, did you load HP default keys?

Is it showing "Other User" but with boxes for Username and Password? If so then I think it's just forgotten the last user who signed in, but if you enter your username and password I'd expect it to let you log in.

Tried that but it says user name or password is incorrect. I even tried logging in with a microsoft account but no luck.

Also have blue error screen when turning gateway laptop on

I've been trying to fix my laptop for the past 2 weeks ever since my husband somehow managed to "break" it while I was out of town. He had the laptop open, on the bed & when he grabbed the comforter the laptop rolled off the comforter (didn't fall off bed or anything)...WELL...ever since, when attempting to turn it on a blue error box saying "No boot device detected" shows up & can't get any other screen to anything

I wasn't aware that I was supposed to burn a "Repair or Recovery Disc" for it until I was looking for a Recovery Disc for Windows 8.
1.) Would a repair disc fix the problem?
2.) Is it possible to burn the repair disc on my moms Dell laptop running Windows 8 to use on my Gateway laptop?

    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

My Compaq CQ58 has that same issue, every time I turn it on, the blue box appears on a black screen with the message that reads "Select boot image did not Authenticate. Press <Enter> to Continue." When I press Enter it turns off again.. I have tried that Escape and F2 key and it turns it off again, in fact, if I press Esc. and any of the F buttons with it, it just shuts off. All of the keys beep when I try to use them, and I can't get any recovery anything to pop up.. When I press and hold F11, the computer just makes a continuous beep that doesn't end unless I turn it off again. It's been like this for a while, how do I get it fixed?
