How to add programs to Start Menu

Within 24-hours I come a long way from Windows 7 to Windows 8 which I'm not too impress with right now -- sorry to say. I found a way to get the Start Menu Button back onto my computer, but I don't know how to load programs on it?

    Hello DJ,

It should be the same way as in Windows 7 below.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

    Guys,

I'm still not sure about my "Start Button." I went online & downloaded a Start Button called, ViStart from Lee-Soft.com & I don't think that it's working right. 1st, I'm not able to save programs on the Start Button like described above. Also, this probably doesn't matter to most but I can't get the background color to match my desktop background. I don't know if I ought to uninstall ViStart & try to start from scratch? Any more sughgestions?

There are better start menus out there.

You might try Ivo's classic shell Welcome to Classic Shell

Or for a different look and lots of flyout menus Dennis program Start Menu 7

    Wait!

Now in my lower left corner it just says, "Start" but doesn't do anything. Now what do I do...?

No idea what happened there. It works fine for me.

Try pressing the windows key, or clickk on the start button.

If I remember correctly, there is a right click menu on the start button to set up your preferred options.

Did you uninstall Vistart first ? If not, it may be interfering.
