So, I'm Windows 7 Free

After a month of cursing and installing and reinstalling and cussing Mr. Bill and after countless "trials and tribulations", I've finally gotten used to Windows 8 and have removed Windows 7 as of last week. All of my apps work except one that bsd's, but they have a temporary patch out for that. So, just thought I'd let you all know that the world as we know it hasn't ended.

But watch out for the 21st of December!!!

Just think, if you had stuck with Windows 7, you would have avoided "a month of cursing and installing and reinstalling and cussing Mr. Bill and countless 'trials and tribulations'", and your program that BSODs would still be working. The best you could say about the whole miserable experience was, "the world as we know it hasn't ended," so I'm going to conclude you didn't get anything positive out of it. Hooray.

Hi there
The Mayans were great Astronomers.

Maybe they are predicting the date ETA CARINAE goes into a supernova and is visble from Earth --it probably has already happened but we don't see it until the light reaches us.

When this star explodes the supernova will be CLEARLY visible even in daylight and at night will be FAR FAR brighter than a full moon --it will cast enough light for several months to actually generate shadows at night.

Don't worry though planet Earth will be in no danger as the object is 7500 light years away so any radiation will long since have been dissipated.

Supernova Blast: Giant Star Eta Carinae to Explode Any Day - TIME

Supernova my ass :))
1.I don't trust a nation that was extincted in a few seconds

The only and true confirmed end is after aprox. 5 billion of years after our sun will extinguish.

2.In your and mine lifetime there will be no end, period.

The other end, the biblical one is that the end comes before some signs, big signs, so i didn't saw any sings, so nothing is gonna come.

3. Some really good stuff about the end and all that is on the secret Vatican library, they aren't for public, i mean some really clues about a possible end, not some words in some biblical books that you find on the store.

4.There are great and real priests around the world, who really know how to interpret the bible, not some fullish words, and there is no end, in your life time and mine at least.

This are in my opinions the arguments.

Nice, hope it happened in the right time for us to see it :)

The Mayan calendar is round so had to finish somewhere, why not make it end on an event. I thought the weird thing about it is that the Aztecs (?) also ended their calendar on the same date. Isn't there also a leap year confusion to do with this?

"it probably has already happened"? for us to see it it would have had to have happened 7500 years ago, the star being 7500 "light years" away...

Kinda going off topic now lol

No problem, mate. I just wanted to let folks know to give the new OS a fair shake. At first I swore I would never like it. Now......... I wouldn't let it go. But it took me a good spell to come to know and like it. And the Mayans are probably much more interesting than my upgrade details. :geek:

Yup it was a long hard bumpy road, trudging across the tundra mile after mile.
But once 90% of the Modern Apps were Sinofskyed/jettisoned, the desktop is once more my friend.

An aside.
Builder Bob, are you any relation to Microsoft Bob?

As for the Mayans, I was there.
Chiseling out the 100 or so calendars for the year 2012 depleted their stone quarries.
Therefore, no more stone, no more calendars. Simple

I spent the same basic month trying to get everything to settle down. Almost made it but a couple of important things simply would not work. Returned to Win7 and, surprisingly enough, there's nothing about Eight that I miss ... except, well ... the solitaire game was pretty good!

2.In your and mine lifetime there will be no end, period.

Look out for that large random chunk of rock............ or the fact that we are nasty to each other (wars)........ or the fact that that some bug/virus could do the job for us...... or that fact that our messing around with the climate/bugs/viruses could do it to ourselves.........

NB. just being realistic. do not underestimate the ability of man to F**k it up for him(or her)self.....
