Upgraded to windows 8 pro, worked fine for sometime, but now it does not boot- says either error loading operating system or disc read error. Re installed win8 after booting with another hard drive with winXP, worked fine for sometime, then it failed again displaying the same error messages. Been using this system since long, but this has never happened before. I have reinstalled again by the same procedure, but always wary of the same problem happening again. Any solutions? Thanks.

Hi did you install any over clocking softwear at any time and take note of what applications you install especially if its custom built (like installing motherboard support dvd or from internet) and even if they are compatible with eight. If you do just install the chip and chipset and gpu drivers leave all the rest and see if that works. I had asus softwear for clocking cause that issue you are having, changed from asus to an msi gd80 to find out what the hell is going on found out that it was the overclocking software.

Hi..thanks "justmork" for the suggestions..especially coming from someone who has gone through a similar problem. Though I do not completely understand the technicalities that you mentioned, I believe that none of those modifications like overclocking has been done on this device.
