Windows 8 restarts after trying to connect to internet

Right after I installed the windows 8 I tried to make a new connection to the internet (I have a modem), but when I hit the button connect (after typing the username and password for the new connection) I get an error ("Windows run into a problem and needs to restart") and it restarts.

I re-installed Windows 8 three times so far but no success.I keep getting the same error just when it tries to connect to internet.

What could be the problem and how can it be fixed?

It's most likely the Ethernet card in you pc. The windows 8 drivers probably havnt been set up yet. The manufacturer should get them out soon.

A lot of wifi cards in laptops don't work either due to no drivers. Windows 8 is too new, so give them some time to get the drivers out.

You can try to right click my computer->manage and then look for Ethernet card... Try to install drivers, or update.

Ok I just realized that my answer is useless, since you need to connect to Internet to install the driver...

It helps to be already connected to the Internet when installing a new os, since it searches for all drivers...

I guess you don't have much choice when reinstalling,

so you'll have to find the model number of the ethernet card and get drivers off another pc....

    Windows 7 drivers might work...

This means Windows 7 has all needed drivers and the Windows 8 not? Why is this?

And where can I find these Ethernet card drivers?

Just to be sure. Are you trying to go to the internet during the installation of 8 or after installing 8. You say you have a modem. What kind of modem is it?

    Of course after the installation.

It's an wired modem. It works perfectly on Window 7 .But I noticed that I can connect to Ethernet but if I connect to the second connection it restarts. And of course I can't connect to the second connection without the Ethernet connection

P.S. I saw something at the Ethernet properties :I don't have checked the 'Microsoft Network Adapter Multiplexer Protocol'.I hit install but I don't know from where I can install it

FWIW, I usually let the installer connect to the internet during installation to get updates, etc. It's comforting when that happens. And, similarly, I usually let the installed connect me to my network during installation. I suspect that going that route makes things easier in the long run. Do you have an existing network. If so, then try connecting to it--not setting up a new location. It's unlikely that you will need to change the Ethernet properties.

Are you saying that you can connect to the internet with your Win8 installation via ethernet? I don't understand about your "second connection." When you can't connect are you trying to do so wirelessly? Are you using a router? Wireless?

I'm feeling pretty much in the dark about what your network "looks" like and what you are doing. Can you give me the details of your network from modem to your Win8 machine?

I don't know what's new in Windows 8 but I can connect to internet just with the Ethernet connection?

Anyways on Windows 7 beside Local Area Connection I have to do another connection with my name and password from my contract made with the Internet distributor and then connect from that new connection.

In Windows 8 it's not the same?(Where I put the name and password from the contract?)
