    I can't lock my system

The only time my system locks is during start up. After that, I can't get the computer to lock either with the screen saver enabled and check "prompt for password" or the Win+L key. I've searched and search but no go. It shouldn't be this difficult just to lock a damn computer should it?

Hello Dannie, and welcome to Eight Forums.

As a test, if you like, see how the lock computer option for the desktop context menu in the tutorial below may work for you.

    Hope this helps for now,

Ok. In that case, double check each option in the tutorial below to make sure you have it set to be enabled.

PROBLEM SOLVED! By default Windows 8 has "remove lock computer" in Ctrl+Alt+del as not configured I just have to change it to "disable and everything was fixed. All locking method works. GENIUS USERS AND BOHOO M$ for being dumb!

    That's great news.

"Not configured" is the default setting, so there may have been a manually added registry entry for it. When you set it to "Disabled", which does the same as "Not configured" for this setting, it would have removed this registry entry.

Hello, I have recently bought a new system running Windows 8.1 64 bit. After I played Cities in Motion 2 on Steam the problem first occurred. The screen freezes and one or two seconds late the system restarts. There is no BSOD. Yesterday I played all day with no issues but today the...
Hi! So, I've upgraded to Windows 8 RTM this weekend and I'm having this problem: Every time I boot the PC (shutdown or restart), the Num Lock key is off. Since my password uses numbers, and I'm pretty used to type it with Num Lock, I'd like to keep it always on. It was fine on Windows 7. Now, I've...
