G'day everyone,

Just thought I'd see if anyone has had similar issues to me....and, more importantly, ways to fix them

Basically, I have three main problems with Windows 8. They are:

1. Monitors don't always work. I have 4 monitors, 2 DVI, 1 minDP and and USB. On reboots or if a monitor is turned off and on etc, one of the DVI monitors refuses to work. I've tried many things to correct it, and sometimes it does come back

Once they are all on, they are fine.

2. Lockups. Sometimes windows just freezes....not everything, just whatever I was using when it froze...ie..sometimes it is windows explorer, sometimes taskmanager etc.

It seems every time I boot I get another little problem....last one was...a blank start screen....windows key put me to desktop, windows key again....blank screen....it eventually came up....don't know why

Some general info:

OS was done as a full install onto an SSD.

Video drivers are up to date from AMD. No other drivers have been updated, other than what windows found for them.

Hardware is: Asus p8z77-v-pro mobo, 32G 1866 RAM, i5 3570k, AMD HD 6570.

So, does anyone have any ideas? Thank you in advance!

When you say "full install" do you mean you installed clean? You did not upgrade a previous version of Windows?

Sorry, yes I meant clean install.

The monitor is the biggest annoying issue, crashes I can suss out eventually through trial and error...but I can't work out what to do to get the monitors all working.

Freezes

I've had freezes too. Windows Explorer several times. Have to go to Task Manager to close them.

I have some of the same problems.

If my monitor is off during boot, then 75% of the time it won't work when I turn on the monitor. The only choice is a hard reboot.
I also get freezes, but for me it's the entire system that freezes.

My system is similar: win8pro installed clean on SSD, the difference is that my cpu is i3550 and my video is nvidia gtx 660.
