Win 8 Pro Update - doesn't do Time Zone correctly

Installed Win 8 Pro with 'keep Win 7 settings' option, then noticed that it displayed GMT rather than UTC+10 for Canberra, Australia. Checked and updated 'Date and Time' to (UTC+10:00) Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, made sure Location was 'Australia' and Language 'English (Australia)' and still the system time is 4am when it should be 4pm.

Any helpful ideas?

Hello Tandlj, and welcome to Eight Forums.

It sounds like you may just need to go back to your "Date and Time Settings" and change the AM to PM part like below.

If it were that simple - I did that many times: next time I use Win 8, it has reverted back to GMT :mad:

Double check your BIOS CMOS time and date settings to see if they are set correctly.

Does this only happen after you shut down or unplug the computer where it no longer has power? If so, then you might consider replacing your CMOS battery on your motherboard.

BIOS is fine and the motherboard is only 2 months old....
