Can I install Win8 and keep using Win7?

    Hi there,
I've been using Win7 Ultimate 64x for sometime now and i have all my software Installed on it.
I recently bought a copy of Win8 and I've been trying not to install it now because i haven't studied a lot of things about it it yet and i need to keep my PC in its current state because of work, but i cant wait anymore..
So here are the FAQs if i may..
1- Can I install Win8 and keep my old copy of Win7?
2- Will software such as Adobe Photoshop be installed on Win8?
3- Is it as good of a System as Win7?
    Thanks in advance

Hello Sony, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Only if you purchased a system builder copy of Windows 8.

If you purchased an upgrade copy of Windows 8, then by the EULA you must uninstall the OS you used to qualify for the upgrade. Your Windows 7.

    MICROSOFT SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT

    Windows 8 EULA

    What about upgrading the software?
The software covered by this agreement is an upgrade to your existing operating system software, so the upgrade replaces the original software that you are upgrading. You do not retain any rights to the original software after you have upgraded and you may not continue to use it or transfer it in any way. This agreement governs your rights to use the upgrade software and replaces the agreement for the software from which you upgraded. After you complete your upgrade, additional software will be required to playback or record certain types of media, including DVDs.

If you used the Windows 8 Upgrade Asisstant to purchase your Windows 8, then it's an upgrade copy.

To purchase a system builder copy, you would have to buy it at an online or brick & mortar store retailer. It would be labeled as "System Builder".

1 - If you setup a dual boot you can then use Windows 7 or Windows 8. Assuming its a full version and not an upgrade version.
2 - No the programs installed in Windows 7 will not automatically be available in Windows 8. You would have to do an upgrade install for that to happen. In that case windows 8 would replace Windows 7. If you dual boot you will have to re-install those programs in Windows 8 to be able to use them in Windows 8.
3 - That's be debated up the ying yang. You'll have to decide for yourself.

    Glad we could help.

Yep, if you purchased it from a retail store and it doesn't have upgrade on it, then you can dual boot.
