Shutting down unusual issue

First please le me apologize if i only bark english!
I am quite appy with my installation of win 8 pro 64bit. Very thing it's working ok eccept the shuting down.
If i enter the charm bar and clic stting and stop and Reboot it'ok. If i clic stop down naothing happen, the gierm bar collapse and the PC contnue to work apparently normal ecept that i have an appilcatio called "Windows boot up application" or something similare taht use indefinitelu about 50 to 60 % of CPU usage. At tys stage even the reboot option becoma inactive.
I hope your people understan me at least very basicaly.

As a test, you might turn off Fast Startup to see if that may be the issue. It's been reported to cause shut down and restart issues with some folks.

Thankyou Brink! i have done it allready but no solution.Let me add that the propblem apply also on safe mode while command shutdown s works just fine.

You might consider using this below instead to add a cascading "Power" menu to your desktop context menu. These use the command method that you say work for you.

Otherwise, you may need to refresh Windows 8.
