    Hi there
the solution might be easier than you think -- but you might not like the answer.

Languages can ONLY be added to W8 PRO / ENTERPRISE. If you are using the standard W8 system you are out of luck.

You CAN add languages to OFFICE though if that's of any help.

I'm on W8 Enterprise and there's no problem whatsoever.

For W8 PRO if IE crashes then there's something wrong with your system. Note also that for certain languages to be installed you need the BASE language to be correct -- However for Lithuanian it's fine to install on to of English.

I'm not sure if Lithuanian has any special character sets (like Russian, Greek, Arabic etc) but if it does you need to add the character sets as well so add the KEYBOARDS first.

    Cheers

Well, i have windows 8 pro x64, so i should be able to add new input languages. It's not enough to add a new writing language just to office, so that variant is off the table. I'm not sure what could be wrong, cause it's fresh new install. As in your picture, there is 2 languages, i have only 1 language, its lithuanian, and i want to add english, so i press "add a language" button, then i see list of languages, then i select english, and then, when i think it should give me select what english branch i want, i.e. en-us, en-gb, it just gives me empty screen... BUT, if i select to add a language without branches, i.e. russian language, then it adds it... And another thing is when i select already added language, press options, then press "add an input method", then explorer.exe process just crashes, just like here : [WIN8] Adding keyboard input layout = explorer.exe Crash - Microsoft Help | DSLReports Forums

    Hello startas,

You might run a sfc /scannow command to see if it may help if it's a corrupted system file at fault.

If not, then you may need to refresh Windows 8 if you have a bad installation since Windows 8 Pro should be able to install language packs to use for your display language or input language.

Well, i will try that scan later, but i wont do that refresh thing, cause as i read, it is very bad and has high change to mess other things Plus, i had installed windows 8 about 10 times, including all beta versions, and i wasnt able to add new languages in all 10 fresh installations, what are the chances for that thing to happen ... !!!*&#%#

    EDIT :
    scan is done, no errors.
