Hey guys, just wondering: what partition does Windows have boot files?

I messed my system up and I am in Linux and have the option to make either my:

1-System reserve or
2-Windows installed partition (C: )

to make as primary bootable. Which one should I make the primary bootable? THANKS!

Im assuming the primary reserve you are talking about is a OEM partition. The C drive is where windows should install if that is the only two partitions you have

If you are installing to BIOS PC, Windows 7/8 will be installed to partition 2.

If you are installing to uEFI BIOS PC, Windows 7/8 will be installed to partition 4.

Hmm.. My UEFI only has 3 partitions, it doesn't have the Recovery partition. Only System and MSR and Primary.

Usually the System reserve contains the bootloader

That being said, i only have 3 partitions on an EFI setup myself. I assume the 4th one is the OEM recovery partition, and is not included on custom installations.
