Folders are not empty but are shown as empty

    Hello,

I have an external hard and the folders in it are shown empty while they are full, but the folder inside them are shown correctly.
    I attached 2 images,

Is it possible that virus cause this problem? It's actually impossible cause I have KIS2013 and it is updated.

    Regards,

Ah, it took a while for me to figure out what you meant..

In your case the icons are displayed wrong, this is a visual malfunction.

When you right-click your folder, click on properties.
There should be a tab called 'Customize', go ahead and click on that.

Try changing the template of the folder here to general, documents, images or something. You can always try to press 'Restore Default'

    Perhaps this will fix it.

Hello 0UnknowN1, and welcome to Eight Forums.

That is odd that your folder thumbnails will show as empty on the root directory, but not after you open a root folder. You might see if resetting your thumbnail cache may help.

Aahh.. that's where it was hidden.. I always delete the iconcache.db file manually. Glad to see where I can reset the thumbnail cache the way it is supposed to.

Although closely related, the icon cache is different than the thumbnail cache. The thumbnail cache is for folder previews instead of an icon like used with files (ex: programs or shortcuts).
