Just a quick update on this.

I've managed to simulate the 2 clicks required to switch to a specific user using AutoHotKey.

Great news. Thank you for posting back with your results.

Could you also share the steps you used to do so for others that would like to do the same?

    Certainly

    Using AutoHotKey_L from AutoHotkey
The script uses screen coordinates for a resolution of 1920x1080
    Code:
    CoordMode, Mouse, Screen

    Send, {LWINDOWN}{LWINUP}
    Sleep, 100
    MouseClick, left, 1797, 94
    Sleep, 100
    MouseClick, left, 1668, 271
    Sleep, 100
    All it does is:
    1) Press the Windows key to get to the Start screen
    2) Click on the username in the top right corner
    3) Click on the first available user to switch to in the resulting dropdown list

For my purposes I've placed this script in the Start-up folder of the specific user, located at:
    C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

    Hope someone finds this useful
