So why waste you time on this forum? Some kind of Apple activism?
    LOL, me fanboy or activist,

    well let see:

I have 9 PC ( that I build my self ) all runing Microsoft Product ( AMD and Intel )
1 have 5 PC running Linux ( AMD and Intel)
I have 12 servers , runing Microsoft and ESXi ( AMD and Intel )
    I have an iMac
    I have a Dell Inspiron and a latitude, a XPS 13 , a Emachine celeron notebook a emachine $ 200 netbook
I have an mac book air
I have an iPad and a iPhone and a Android phones

and also my oldest PC , A dell XPS 420 with Vista, and about 20 old pc on the shelf not worth to mention

I said the only worth stuff at staples is MAC because I can build way better PC than the HP and Emachine they sell there, so for me only the mac interest me when I go staples. it'S like if you own a BMW and you go in KIA dellers who sell also Mercedez benz, will you look at the KIA ? ( I don't own a BMW )

There were no Macs at Staples. All cheepie Win 8

I wasn't recommending buying a system at Staples, I was illustrating that Win8 will be in everyone's hands who buy new systems.

Win 8 desktop is still better then Win 7 which was the best OS ever. The Modern UI will catch on. Early adopters will have issues. So what else is new?

You are not the only one who has been using MS for 30 years and who have built and used or own many systems.

Who are you trying to convince?

Sorry my friend but in Canada at staples here we have Apple products ...look at this link :

Office Supplies, Ink & Toner, Technology & Office Furniture | Staples® Canada

it's funny to see that for some poples it's black or white, they don,t seem to understand that it can be grey. I means , if you say something good about Apple, you are an Apple activist , if you say something bad against MS you are a trouble maker or a fanboy if you say something good, I found those peoples very limited in their minds, as if someone can like Apple and PC and like if someone can like Windows 8 but still found something wrong that have to be change.

But what is the point of going on about it? MS Rules and Still rules for REAL computers. Enjoy.

    Yes, it is strange.

Unless you gush with enthusiasm for everything MS is doing - some people think you are hateful.

I remember all those people bragging they build there own PCs, when Vista came out and new hardware was really having problems. I remember the anguish people experienced after building killer machines and having so many RMA's to deal with especially when they were building them for clients. painful.

I prefer to put Alienware or Dell on the line for repairs and replacements---one phone call-- till the last moment of a 3-4 year warranty, because you (or a client) end up with Brand new updated Machines for free after 3 years. Happened twice for me in past 10 years.

    Enjoy.

OK... First impressions were, what the ....? I bought 8 on a whim. I knew absolutely nothing about it, ignored the reviews and everything about it. Being occupied by Android made this easy. The only thing that I actually knew about 8 was the removal of the start orb.

After a few days of frustrations... It really started to grow on me. Found myself getting around somewhat efficiently, and really started looking into commands and shortcuts to use Windows differently than I've ever used it.

I find the OS rock stable, and for myself personally, heaps more stable than 7. The Windows Explorer refresh bug that I could never get to go away slightly tarnished my 7 experience.

Why do I feel Microsoft is heading in the right direction?..... People are talking about it. Whether they love or despise the way MS has gone. Over time people will figure it out, and adapt to it.

What it all comes down to in my opinion are the people that enjoy a new learning curve, looking for new challenges are going to embrace 8. The people that just want familiarity, are going to put up a fight.

It's nothing to do with figuring out the UI.

It is to do with not wanting to be monetarised, and the direction MS is leading the unsuspecting public.

We just got our first W8 machine... a laptop... and have a 2nd one coming. So it's time for me to learn something about this new (to me) OS. I'm hardly new to Windows... coming from DOS/OS2 Warp/Win3.x/Win95/Win98/Win2k/WinXP/Vista/W7 and have been a member of the SevenForums for a good while. I...
Black Friday provided me with the opportunity to upgrade to a more powerful computer with Windows 8. Like others, I was more than a little peeved and frustrated by the disappearance of the "Start" icon. After several days of thrashing about, unseemly cussing, and menacingly manhandling what...

I upgrade on of my older lap tops to Windows 8. It's a pretty beefy computer. The upgrade went well. But I do not like this new version and will not upgrade any of my other computers until Microsoft fixes many small problems. Problems I have encountered: 1) The shut down button was...
As a bunch of us just got the retail Win8 Pro version off of TechNet, good time to start a discussion of what actually is there vs. what was rumored. 1. Aero IS gone. 2. Gadgets ARE gone. 3. Windows store has a lot more stuff. I don't see anything that smacks of payment yet. 4. As rumored,...

Well, finally installed Win 8 dev. I tried to install the 64-bit, but it stopped uncompressing at 98 or 99% - several tries. Of course the iso might have been corrupt. I checked online forums and saw others had mentioned this problem. So I humbly installed the 32-bit OS. Worked first time. ...
