It's very simple, enterprise is not a consumer product. So if you are looking for a OS at home, it's not available to you, if you work as an IT and want to take a decisions for a corporation, with the info Microsoft provide to you , you should know already. It's not a question of witch one is the best, it's a question of what are the need.

The enterprise version contains additional features that are not found in the other editions, notably Applocker and Windows To Go. They are really interesting and if the upgrade to Windows 8 Pro wasn't so cheap I would be tempted to acquire the enterprise version myself.

Except you can't unless you have a volume license agreement with Microsoft - the only keys that work to activate the Enterprise edition are MAK or KMS keys, neither of which are available any other way but a VL agreement.

You would have to steal a copy of enterprise, or have a copy of technet or MSDN where enterprise versions are available. It's not sold to consumers.

You can't use the Technet one in your personnel PC or a PC in production ( business) it's reserve for lab environment , where you use it to test it.

On my signature I have an Enterprise ( Technet) but look at the detail on the pic, this is use on a Servers 2012 Essential test domain not on my real business server domain , I have my own workstation with a paid Window 7 Pro OEM license

Well, tell that to all of the people who buy Technet and use it for their home computer.

I genuinely understand that this isn't the intention of the program. However, I've also personally called Microsoft on the phone and discussed the use of Technet at home for my own personal home use PC and they basically told me that they would not consider this use to be a violation of the EULA and it was cool as long as I didn't share it with somebody else or use it to support a business.

While I have an MSDN subscription myself at work, my home computers too are licensing with straight up retail licensing, OEM licenses that I bought from NewEgg, or OEM licenses which came with the purchase of the machine.

    .

that's the problem, in some forums they push member to get Technet instead of pay for OS, I remember the time where you need to be employed by a Microsoft Re seller to get access to their NFR, and they was not downloadable, they was hard copy NFR that you pay for it at huge discount .

Now Microsoft limit the amount of licenses too peoples legit like me because they are abuse, they should return to a system with verification like before.

Yeah, people screwed themselves with Technet. When they got 10 license keys, they got greedy and tried selling 7 of these licenses and earning their money back and a whole bunch extra.

You get 2 multiple activation licenses still with Technet, which will activate a bunch of times. More than the average person would ever need.

I'm glad to see this much cheaper upgrade pricing from Microsoft. I think this was a clear attempt to try to prevent people from doing Technet instead of just buying OS licenses like they should.

I don't think using Technet at home is really cool. But I also don't forsee MS ever coming after you for it.
