The new look

Interface.png

I enjoy the new look, unlike many of my close friends. It is clean, elegent, and faster than the cheesy aero interface. I enjoyed 7's look better than the CP and RP for a while, and ever since the Developer Preview I have grown to enjoy the new squared idea. When aero was removed, I loved the new look. Maybe it is just me, but I like this OS a lot.

Mounting VHD and ISO files

ISO and VHD Mounting.png

I have had a broken CD reader for a while now, and creating ISO images have become mandatory to installing a new copy of Windows or other OS. VHD's for VMware or (now) Hyper-V's virtual machines can be easily edited and safer to dual boot with.

WordPad

WordPad has been included once again with Windows offering a Word-like interface unlike some older editions of Windows.

File Association

All file types are set to "Select a file association" by default. Easier for me, but comment if you have any more?

I like the new task manager too, although I still really like Process Hacker (which works great with W8).

I really like the W-x shortcut, and find that very handy. Very easy and fast to switch between Start screen and Desktop.

I like the fact that the tablet UI is accessible to me, which will definitely be handy when using any type of touch screen.

When you use Windows 8, you feel ......... light. It just FEELS so light. And I love that feeling. Windows 7 feels heavy.

Having installed it today, I have only just gotten home to enjoy and explore Windows 8. I must say I am quite happy the way it runs so smooth and the Metro theme is. The new Start screen is fantastic! Looks so nice on a 1920x1088 HD monitor! :)

I agree it's refreshing. It even makes OSX look ancient. I'm so tired of looking at icons for the last 20 years.
