Solved windows 8

hi im using windows 7 ultimate 64bit on my laptop amd e-450 apu radeon[tm] hd graphics 1.65ghz 8gb memory 750gb hard drive.can i upgrade from 7 ultimate to windows 8 from my laptop or do i need purchase windows 8 from ie currys pcworld.also would i need to partition my hardrive to put on windows 8 and run as 2 operating systems thanks

It depends on what you would like to do.

If you just want to use Windows 8, then you could just purchase the upgrade copy of Windows 8, then upgrade your Windows 7 to Windows 8 to replace/remove Windows 7.
If you wanted to use both Windows 7 and Windows 8 in a dual boot, then you would need to purchase the more expensive ($99) System Builder copy of Windows 8 instead of an upgrade copy of Windows 8. If you wish to go this route, then please post a screenshot of Disk Management (diskmgmt.msc) showing your full hard drive layout first to see what your options are for where to install Windows 8.

Did you want to install Windows 8 on the E partition, or shrink one of the partitions to create a new partition to install Windows 8 on?

If shrink, then which drive letter did you want to shrink?

hi put it on E partition plenty space

In that case, you could just select the E partition to install Windows 8 on normally then. You would pretty much be using step 2 in the tutorial below.
