I want to purchase Windows 8 for download here in Canada. It ask you for all your billing information when I try to fill it out I get to the final part ZIP code/Postal code. When I put in the postal code it states "Use a valid format" and won't let me go any further. Any ideas how to solve this problem?

I live in south korea and i was having the same issue. in korea the postal code is 6 number. Usually something like "565 556". Anyways I tried different variations trying to put the numbers together without space inbetween, with space ... Then I added a "-" in between the number "565-556" and it worked!

So my suggestion would be to try different variations of your postal code until it works. SO if your Canadian postal code is "C1M 1K4" maybe try "c1m 1k4" or "c1m1k4" or "c1m-1k4" If none of those work try it with all Capitals... and if that doesnt work I would call Microsoft for support.

good luck

Also, I'm in south korea and I downloaded the updater from the US website and purchased it from that download. Dont think it matters where you download/ purchase from. The updater knows which country you're in.. In my case it was displaying my purchase in Korean currency even though i got the updater from the american website....

I used the Canadian site and it even has province for Canadians as well as Postal Code (where in the US it is ZIP code). I tried all configurations with the "-" and without "-" but still same problem.

I just went through the same thing. I would enter my postal code as XXXXXX. If I tried to put a space between the characters, I could only get to XXX XX. Same thing if I put a dash XXX-XX. After a few minutes of hair pulling, I typed the postal code in without a space. I then put the cursor between the third and fourth character and inserted a space. It worked. So type the code in without a space, then add the space. This seems to be the only way that it will accept a Canadian postal code.
