Strange problem I've been experiencing with Windows 8 (and ONLY Windows 8) for a few weeks now.
When I am on the desktop and I hit the Windows key to go to metro to search or do anything, the screen will get noticeably darker and proceed to "fade in" to full brightness.
This also seems to happen randomly when I watch videos (in WMP, VLC, Media Player Classic, anything). The video will all of a sudden get much brighter/darker.
I've turned off that sensor monitor service AND disabled auto-brightness in the power options and yet it persists.
All my drivers are up to date and this is a fresh, legitimate (MSDN) install of Windows 8 Pro.
Anyone know what's happening here??
