Hi there
If you have an XP installation THESE games will run

Copy to say a USB device from a Windows XP installation from folder windows==>system32 to a folder on your usb say XPgames.

don't forget the Cards.dll file

Cards.dll
freecell.exe
mshearts.exe
sol.exe
spider.exe
winmine.exe

if you need spider help files there should be somewhere a spider.chm and spider.hlp but it's not necessary.

Pinball also is possible --copy the entire pinball folder -- I don't bother with that one. (it's in programfiles==>windowsnt folder copy to same folder as you copied the other XP games.

works on W8 x-64.

have fin

cheers
jimbo

Man, "cards.dll" brings me back - I used to carry around one that had customized card faces, but had to ditch it when moving from 98SE to XP.

A slightly relevant suggestion:

If you enjoy playing old games (or using older software of any type) check their website to see if they've written free downloads to upgrade them. I was surprised at the number of Windows 95 and 98 games that had been upgraded to Windows XP for free.
