Can my laptop run GTA V?

Can my laptop run GTA V?

Sure, The recommended and minimum specifications have not been released yet, But predicted specifications are quite similar. I highly doubt you would need for example: 2x GTX 980's to run it on high. Call of Duty Advanced Warfare runs at around 70 FPS on my laptop on Automatic settings, even when playing online. The recommended specifications for that game includes a 4GB graphics adapter.

Just to make sure, Id like the community opinion on this to see if i can really run it. For those who cannot see my specifications i will place them below.

    Model: Asus X550L Laptop
    CPU: i7 core 4500U @ 1.8 - 3.2 (on turbo)
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 840m @ 2GB dedicated video memory.
    1TB HDD
    Windows 8.1
    8GB DDR3 RAM

Thanks for your opinion! New to this community, Hello to all!

Yes it should but at minimum settings. 460M is probably equal or faster than 840M. CPU is more than enough as long as you it isn't slowing down to minimum frequency.

Good specs for a laptop except wifi.
As long as the game is using SLI, gaming should be good for at least 3-5 years from now. I would dump the single band 7260 and get a dual band card or killer N1525 wifi card if you prefer getting all your internet speed through WiFi.

Shame Lenovo put a single band wifi card and even my low cost tablet comes with a dual band card. Just keep your laptop free of dust and repaste once a year to ensure maximum gaming performance.

Actually, there is an unsupported BIOS hack that will allow me to purchase an Intel 7260-AC dual-band 2.4 and 5 GHz chip and install it on my Lenovo IdeaPad Y510P gaming notebook PC. It's rather involved as a process, but it is doable and the Intel 7260-AC chip is inexpensive. My one year warranty ends on April 14th, 2015 and I don't plan to extend it. So, I could wind up doing the BIOS hack and installing the Intel 7260 AC dual-band chip and I should be good to go. I'm mulling it over now and I'm doing research into the BIOS hack procedure.

On the other hand, I am thinking about getting myself a top of the line Sager NP8652 gaming notebook PC with Intel 7260 AC dual-band Wi-Fi built-in with a Sharp 4K UHD 15.6" screen and a nVidia Geforce GTX 980M with 8 GB DDR5 video RAM GPU among other goodies at the end of December 2015. My budget will be $3,000.00 USD. It will be a reward for myself. I also plan to get 32 GB of Kingston HyperX 1,600 MHz SODIMM RAM and a Samsung 512 GB M.2 PCI-Express solid state disk along with a 2 TB 5,400 RPM hard disk drive.

I might do the BIOS hack later this year and I might get the Intel 7260 AC dual-band Wi-Fi with Bluetooth 4.0 chip. We shall see.

See, most of the time I use Gigabit Ethernet to connect my PC to my router to get Internet access. So, I'm not sure if getting the Intel 7260 AC dual-band chip is going to be worth it since I rarely use Wi-Fi except when I travel on the road. I have to do more research into the BIOS hack as there are quite a number of steps involved and it will void my warranty if I do it. Let me think about it. It could save me a few thousands of dollars by not getting the Sager NP8652 gaming notebook PC at the end of this year.

Uhm, just saying.. they're not the real specs. They're rumours. And are totally fake. As the game on PS3 and PS4 also comes to about 50gigs. On PC it will be like 55-60gigs, not 30. The specs are going to be released very very soon though Rockstar said

Question: Will my PC be able to run GTAV well? What are the system requirements and recommended specs?

System requirements for the PC version of GTAV are not yet available. If you would like to receive an automatic email notification when they are posted here, please log into the Support Site and click Subscribe at the top of this page.

    Windows 10 Tech Preview 10041 x64

Here's the official sysreqs from Rockstar:

    Minimum specifications:
OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1, Windows Vista 64 Bit Service Pack 2* (*NVIDIA video card recommended if running Vista OS)
    Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs) / AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs) @ 2.5GHz
    Memory: 4GB
    Video Card: NVIDIA 9800 GT 1GB / AMD HD 4870 1GB (DX 10, 10.1, 11)
Sound Card: 100% DirectX 10 compatible
    HDD Space: 65GB
    DVD Drive

    Recommended specifications:
    OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1
    Processor: Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.2GHZ (4 CPUs) / AMD X8 FX-8350 @ 4GHZ (8 CPUs)
    Memory: 8GB
    Video Card: NVIDIA GTX 660 2GB / AMD HD7870 2GB
Sound Card: 100% DirectX 10 compatible
    HDD Space: 65GB
    DVD Drive

Those are actually decently low specs compared to most recent games. I'd say you should be able to run it on medium at least.
