Video Games Crashing Often

I crash to the desktop about once every hour or two while playing games. It doesn't matter which game I am on it will crash and Windows attempts to troubleshoot the solution. I do not get any other error messages otherwise.

I believe all my drivers and Windows updates are all up to date. I have scanned for viruses/malware with Kaspersky, Malwarebytes, and Window's malware removal; it all came up clean. I did recently switch from Norton to Kaspersky. Didn't have issues with Norton (that I can recall).

Is there a log file I can look up and upload to these forums to help narrow the issue?

It's possible that Kaspersky is just being a little too aggressive, but the first thing I'd do is just run memtest86+ overnight and see if that turns up anything.

I had this problem in my previous PC, found that total RAM installed should meet the minimum/recommended requirements of the game - that was what caused my problem. Other problems I could think of is AV causing crashes (high memory usage) as asvent pointed out, game not installed properly, faulty RAM.
Did you install all the Windows Updates available?

Well, I have 16GB of RAM so I don't think the issue is that. I have installed all the Windows updates (just checked it yesterday).

Only thing I haven't done is a memtest but this issue just happened recently.

That is almost certainly symptomatic of overheating, usually the CPU or GPU where so much heat is generated.

I would install some software that monitors the temperatures in the CPU and GPU. If the MOBO does not have that already.

If the CPU or GPU temperatures reach around 90°C plus then that's your problem. It can affect other components as well.

It will mean some servicing like cleaning out fans, possibly replacing fans, filters, ventilation grills etc. possibly re-attaching the heatsinks and so on.

As Helmut suggested, i think that'll be the one first you might look into. I didn't even give it a think, may be i was pondering about the issue that caused me headache :geek:

I exited Kaspersky and was monitor temps. It crashed and the temp for the GPU was only 60C and the CPU was 45.
