Fps drop ingame after upgrading from 7 ultimate to 8.1 pro

    Good evening,

So i upgrated my os yesterday (format + fresh install) from 7 ultimate to 8.1 pro.

I used to have 180-250 fps on "cs go" now i only have 80-150 fps.

I ve searched all tweaks on google for 8.1 pro and applied a lot of them but still no effects.

Can someone help me with this ?

ps: all drivers are up to date.

Hi Vincent86, welcome to the forum. I don't know if it will help but I have been reading about high precision event timing (HPET) affecting some systems. You may have a setting for it in BIOS. If not, there are BCDedit commands to turn it on or off.

I have to think it may be a problem with CS:GO 8.1 compatibility or graphics drivers.

I still get up to ~300fps. Did you check your driver-settings ?

    I meant things like:

    - CUDA - GPUs = All
    - Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration = Multiple display performance
    - Power management mode = Prefer maximum performance
    - Threaded optimization = On

Windows-8.1 usually results in most cases in a better performance when gaming, but there are a few games, mainly older ones, which are causing some issues.

I can't compare the CS:GO performance with Windows-7, because I moved on to Windows-8 / 8.1 pretty early, but I get the max. ~300fps with 1920x1080 and all quality-settings maxed-out and the very bad SLI-Scaling.

Did you have a look here: Click

It could be that it's patch-related, as mentioned here: Click

    I use the GeForce v340.52.

Yes i did configure all settings correctly. i ve v340.52 drivers aswell. I don't think it s related to the GPU.

Another think i lose half fps when i look at scoreboard (on cs go). Something that was not the case before (on win7). And i ve seen on google some ppl getting that problem too with different patches from valve.

edit: Same in spectator i lose 1/4 fps ...

Did you try running it in compatibly mode ?

If you don't have a 120/144Hz screen I would not bother about it and just activate adaptive VSync and disable in-game VSync off.

The game makes me even with ~300fps motion-sick.

My fps fluctuate as well. In some stages I get over 3000fps, when the game is loading.
