Hi there
sometimes if I'm on a train I like MShearts and Spider solitaire.
Spider solitaire works fine in "Portable mode" --just copy spider.exe from an XP installtion -- no setup etc required.

I hope that when the final is released the "Old classic Windows Games" will be back. I got them to work on w2003 server but haven't been able to do anything in W8 to install these.

Anybody got these to install from W7 ??

Cheers

There are even x64 versions available form the Win XP x64 cd (that's a w2003 kernel there, so no problem).

I used the x64 classic Pinball in Win7 with no problem so it should work fine on Win8 which I consider more old-app-friendly than its 2 predecessors (Win6 & Win7).

Hi there
prob solved

You can actually install the whole gamut of W7 "Classic Games" by following this link.

Microsoft Games for Windows 8

If you really prefer the older versions then you'll have to extract them from an XP install disk. Note only 2 or 3 will work from the XP disk however ALL the W7 games will work and much better than using those games from the store wit the wretched full screen metro interface and the "Kiddy colours" themes.
