Solved BF4 OC issue

So when I play BF4, the game started crashing after the latest BF4 patch. I noticed that if I run it at 4.5 or higher BF4 crashes. That is the only program with an issue. My temps are fine, and can run 4.7 stable except for BF4

. So now I am playing some BF4 lately, so have gone to 4.2.


Does anyone else have this too?

I'm not playing BF4, but I have OC issues with COD: Ghosts. It crashes if I run above 4.3GHz. But it's stable running IntelBurnTest @ 4.5 GHz !!!

It's a game thing I guess. I looked around for a memory fix for your thread but haven't found anything.

You will have to increase the VCore a bit to get it stable.

I do not like the temp increases when raising the v-core. It is stable with prime, intel burn test, and every other game/program I have.. just not BF4. I will just leave it at 4.2

To be stable at 4.5 GHz my system needs a VCORE of 1.385v, but my thermal compound is not performing well. I'm gonna get Tuniq’s TX-4 or Acrtic Silver 5 to improve heat dissipation.

I had to increase my VCore to 1.435 @4700MHz to get it BF4-stable.

There is no temp-issue and no thermal throttling in my case.

The OC was Prime95-stable with around 1.375V, but it still depends on if your CPU came out of a good batch or not.

My EX-2600k (which is now my wife's one) was much easier to OC and I got it up to 5012MHz on Air (Thermaltake FRIO OCK + 2x EBM-Papst 4112 NH4 + NZXT. Sentry Mesh Fan Controller).

I just got my 4770k ~4635 MHz (103 x45) @ 1.4125v - DDR3 ~1920 MHz 1.6v (9-10-9-28)
Stable under Intel BurnTest - Heavy Mode x 3 - Temps: Tj always ~88°C and Tcase ~74°C

So, I put my cpu back to 4.5 and played bf4 again, now it is not crashing. I will play a few more rounds, if it does crash I will bump the vcore a little.

You were right all along TONSCHUH, after a few more rounds I got the dreaded BF4 has stopped working. I bumped the vcore up, and no more crashes after a few hours of gaming. I'm just hard headed, one program or game shouldn't dictate my settings. Even with the modest bump of vcore my temps are still good, so I will stop whining :eek:
